Camping in the Utah desert

Time for some glamping in the beautiful nature of the United States. Besides the Mormon community and its rich archives, the state of Utah has much more to offer: the desert offers the perfect opportunity for luxury camping.Text: Ivo Weyel

REMOVED LUXURY

If you want to stay far away from everyday life and drudgery, choose a remote destination. Take Amangiri's new tented camp Camp Sarika in the middle of the Utah desert. It consists of ten tents, although that's not the right name, because with prices starting at $3,500 a night, you understand that these come with such attributes as a private pool, aide-de-camp and heated toilet seat. Those who arrive there after an exhilarating trip in a procession of luxurious BMWs (one for guests, one for their luggage, one for staff) await incomparably clear starry skies, golden sunsets over the rocky canyons and unadulterated silence.

LXRY LIST 2022

The annual book LXRY List 2022 casts a glance into the distance, where new opportunities shine. Entrepreneurship with a view to a better world. For example, Rewilding Europe is committed to helping disappearing species by making space for true wild nature. And De Apostelhoeve is taking advantage of global warming by growing wine on the hills of Limburg and gaining international recognition for it. In addition to these burgeoning economies, there is also a focus on sustainable initiatives. Like Cartier's new Tank Must, a watch that runs on solar energy. And a lamp against light pollution. But the list also includes an over-the-top hotel stay at Château Versailles. Après nous, le déluge? No, but even in the new world there may be room to enjoy and experience.
