These designer brands honor Chinese New Year

The Chinese year Huangdi 4720, the Year of the Rabbit, will be ushered in on Sunday, Jan. 22. This happens in many places in a festive way. And what better kick-start to a new year than a new outfit? Well, here's your chance; as several brands decided to release a collection especially for this occasion.

Gucci

With a group of friends in a blooming landscape full of bright colors AND rabbits, Gucci's collection gives a playful take on the Year of the Rabbit. The Chinese New Year, is also called Lunar New Year or the Spring Festival. The campaign therefore shows how the dreamy light of the sunrise, symbolically announces a new spring. From colorful shirts with graphic prints to long scarves with rabbit ears; the rabbit appears in multiple ways throughout the collection.

Fendi

For this year's Lunar New Year collection, Fendi focuses on reinterpreting its own logo with the colors red and white. Indeed, in Chinese culture, the color red symbolizes prosperity and joy. The red and white logo can be seen throughout the collection; on the Match sneaker, various shirts, as well as on the iconic Baguette bag.

Dolce & Gabbana is also on hand. The collection is mainly inspired by nature, so you see the daffodil and - surprise surprise -the rabbit recurring often. According to the brand, these elements symbolize spring and rebirth. This year's Chinese constellation is printed on a range of shirts, dresses, skirts and accessories. The flowers are especially seen on heels and scarves. The most striking item in the collection? The Italian fashion house introduced the new Portofino sneakers with bunny ears.
