G-FIFTY: MODERN BREAKWATER

In 1968, Italian billionaire and Fiat president Gianni Agnelli turned his speedboat G.Cinquanta into an iconic dream boat. Now - 50 years later - this flamboyant classic has been designed into a contemporary modern eye-catcher: the G-Fifty.Text: Larissa Schaule Jullens

New Generation Speedboat

The concept of the new generation speedboat was designed by Renato "Sony" Levi of Levi Designs. Levi designed the classic G.Cinquanta at the time and has managed to give the new boat an equally elegant and chic look. It has the same aggressive lines and needle-like bow as the 1968 model, but is equipped with the latest technology and materials. The most striking change is in the construction of the exterior. Whereas the classic G.Cinquanta was constructed of mahogany planks, the modern G-fifty consists of carbon composite. This has the strength of steel yet is extremely lightweight. The new vessel is 3 meters longer, giving her a total length of 14 meters. The new G-Fifty also offers more power than its predecessor. This is an impressive achievement, as the G.Cinquanta was hard to match. The G-Fifty achieves a top speed of 50 knots.
