It's already one of the world's most luxurious trains, but The Belmond Royal Scotsman is about to get even more glamorous with the launch of two new suites. For example, how about an extensive onboard spa?
Since 1985, the Royal Scotsman has been offering scenic cruises through the heart of the Scottish Highlands. On board, the single and double cabins accommodate up to 40 guests. So recently the company announced the arrival of two swanky new Grand Suites that will be open to passengers in May 2024.
The suites were designed by Paris-based interior designer Tristan Auer. In the style of a country house with a classic nod to Scottish culture. For example, hhe interior includes handmade wall coverings and upholstery that reflect the rich colors of the Scottish Highlands landscape, as well as dark wood paneling with detailed inlays.
Spa on board
Although the excursions along the way include visits to castles and various distilleries, you don't actually have to disembark for a little entertainment. In fact, the bar on the train is stocked with more than 50 varieties of whiskey. Most unique, however, is the Bamford Haybarn Spa. Here, enjoy a comprehensive massage, body scrub or aromatherapy in one of two treatment rooms while the Scottish landscape passes you by.
