Rolling art show, come see that

Three days of enjoying extraordinary art, photography and design. From April 21 to 24, this is possible during the Rolling Art Show in Rotterdam. This show is not presented by art galleries, but by the artists themselves. The makers will be present in person during these days to talk to visitors about their artworks, inspiration, working methods and the context of their art.Text: Mical Joseph

Different than different

The show's organizers feel that there are enough art fairs with crowded booths. The format of the Rolling Art Show is different: the focus is on creating a rich, post-museum experience of art. According to the organization, visitors at the Rolling Art Show are given space. All the works are presented in an orderly fashion on the 1,000 square meters area of The Keilepand. In this way, visitors are given every opportunity to enjoy the exhibited works.Frederique Spigt

Participating artists

After last year the artists Corine van Voorbergen, Paula Evers and Rep Ringel felt the need to set up a joint presentation of their art, they found the perfect partner in Lieuwe van der Chijs, mentor and inspiration to many artists, with his Rolling Art Show concept. Last year was the first edition in Amsterdam and now it is Rotterdam's turn. With the new concept, the artists want to challenge the conventional art world in order to expand the existing frameworks and ingrained paths of exhibiting art. Participating artists of the show are: Patricia Steur, Frederique Spigt, Maudy Alferink, Nathalia Olhova, Govert de Roos, Herman Brood, Narouz Moltzer, Yelena Oosting, Frans Polman, Ottograph, Jan Tervoort, Rob Verhorst, Jeroen Dercksen, Sonia Herman Dolz, Juan Manuel, Giraldo, Ron Tetteroo, Vincent Metzel, Rep Ringel, Corine van Voorbergen and Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema Jr.Rep Ringel | Ottograph

Expansion to other cities

The organization of the Rolling Art Show has great ambitions and would like to roll out the initiative to other cities in the Netherlands in the near future, as well as beyond. In the process, other art forms, such as spoken word, music, dance and theater, will be added.
Admission to the Rolling Art Show is free and open to all.
