Tribute to Johan Cruijff with gold stamp for 75th anniversary of birth

Cruijff fans and stamp collectors beware! A gold stamp in honor of Johan Cruijff 's ^75th birthday will soon be released on the market. A true collector's item, of which only 1,000 pieces will be sold once.Text: Patrick Stoffer
Image: Royal Dutch MintA portrait of the soccer legend adorns the 24-carat stamp, which will be issued in the Netherlands and Spain. The issuing postal organizations, Spain's Correos and the Caribbean's FXDC Post, opted for a one-time edition of 1,000 to ensure the exclusivity of the stamp.

The stamp is a tribute to the late footballer, who would have turned 75 on April 25. On the occasion of his ^75th birthday and to honor the soccer legend, the golden stamp is now being released. By the way, this is not the first time Cruijff's portrait has been shown off on a stamp. PostNL issued a silver stamp five years ago, which, with an edition of 1,400, was sold out within 24 hours.

The gold stamp of Johan Cruijff can be ordered from the Royal Dutch Mint. Sales are expected to start on Cruijff's birthday, April 25, 2022. The stamp will cost €50 each.
