The Zencha collection from Duravit

Exciting contrast

With their straight lines, Zencha's furniture forms an exciting contrast to the organic sanitary objects. In addition, the subtle material and color concept completes the collection. The starting point for designer are the handmade ceramic tea bowls that Herkner discovered in Japan. Their soft, organic shapes appear abstractly in the sanitary objects. They are designed as curved rectangles, flared at the bottom and tapered at the top with a subtle curve. The use of DuraCeram® makes it possible to form attachment basins with a thin rim, which are easy to maintain and strong. The baths are seamlessly made of DuraSolid® and convince with their warm feel and high-quality matte look.

The most striking design feature of the Zencha collection, then, is a fine frame just six millimeters thick. This forms an even shadow joint that makes the furniture look elegant and light. According to designer Herkner, producing such technically complex solutions with consistent quality only works if, like Duravit, you have your own production facilities with the right know-how and high craftsmanship.

Modular furniture elements

The furniture in the Zencha collection has a modular structure and can be used as open shelves or as drawers with push-open and self-closing technology. As storage space for bathroom items, they give them structure the space and create atmosphere in different style worlds. There is also a playful element in the form of cabinet fronts, which are available in different designs. In addition, the furniture has an easy-to-clean surface with anti-fingerprint and is available in white super mat, taupe super mat and graphite super mat; the possibilities of Zencha are endless.

With the new collection, Herkner joins the ranks of renowned designers such as Philippe Starck and Cecilie Manz who previously designed collections for the German manufacturer. Through the interaction of pioneering designs, high product quality, a keen sense of human needs and responsible entrepreneurship, Duravit's ambition is to make the end user's life a little better every day, the new Zencha collection proves this all too well...
