The latest Rolex watches: innovation with respect for tradition

'Anyone who wants to create exemplary timepieces must set the bar very high.' According to Rolex, this is how watches are created that over time become icons. The brand proves this all too well with the recently released watches that made their appearance during Watches & Wonders in Geneva. GASSAN highlights some of the nouveautés.

It is an ever-present challenge made manifest by Rolex's ambition to perfect every part, question every method and master all elements of watchmaking. The new Rolex watches in 2023 illustrate a desire to innovate while providing a sense of continuity, to innovate with respect for tradition, and to make full use of technology in combination with the courage to create.

Every dial a discovery

The new Oyster Perpetual Day‑Date 36 features dials made of decorative stone with colors that evoke the atmosphere of the Mediterranean coast. Green aventurine, carnelian and turquoise are combined with watches in 18 carat Everose, yellow and white gold respectively.

An expression of Rolex's dial expertise, the new Day-Date 36 watches are also a testament to its mastery of stone setting. This combination of exceptional stones, gemstones and precious metals emphasizes the excellence and elegance of this watch.

Dynamism and cheerfulness

The new dials of the Oyster Perpetual 31, Oyster Perpetual 36 and Oyster Perpetual 41 come to life thanks to their colour, dynamism and cheerfulness. They feature multi-hued bubbles that playfully bring together the five colors first introduced in the 2020 collection.

Worldly connection

The GMT Master II allows the wearer to view the time in a different time zone. This watch marks our connection to the world. The model is now available in two new versions: one in 18 carat yellow gold and one in yellow Rolesor. Both are equipped with a Cerachrom bezel ring made of gray and black ceramic, a completely new color combination.

The craftsmanship is evident from the choice of materials and the precise finish, which together make the watch stand out. The harmonious contrast between the brilliant gold of the Jubilee bracelet and the two-tone bezel with darker, less saturated colors recall the Earth's orbit around the sun and the change between day and night.

The watch is ideally suited to the demands and pressures of competitive sailing, and puts watchmaking craftsmanship at the service of sporting performance. The Yacht-Master 42 is the second Rolex watch made of RLX titanium after the Oyster Perpetual Deepsea Challenge and confirms that lightness is a quality that should be taken seriously.
