The latest Rolex watches: innovation with respect for tradition

'Anyone who wants to create exemplary timepieces must set the bar very high.' According to Rolex, this is how watches are created that over time become icons. The brand proves this all too well with the recently released watches that made their appearance at Watches & Wonders in Geneva. GASSAN highlights some of the nouveautés.

It is an ever-present challenge made visible by Rolex's ambition to perfect every part, question every method and master all parts of watchmaking. In its own words, the new Rolex watches in 2023 illustrate a desire to innovate while providing a sense of continuity, to innovate while respecting tradition, and to make full use of technology combined with the courage to create.

Every dial a discovery

The new Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 features dials made of ornamental stone with colors that evoke the atmosphere of the Mediterranean coast. Green aventurine, cornaline and turquoise are combined with watches in 18-carat Everose, yellow and white gold, respectively.

An expression of Rolex's skill in dials, the new Day-Date 36 watches are also a testament to mastery of stone setting. This combination of exceptional stones, precious stones and precious metals highlights the excellence and elegance of this watch.

Dynamism and cheerfulness

The new dials of the Oyster Perpetual 31, Oyster Perpetual 36 and Oyster Perpetual 41 come alive thanks to their color, dynamism and cheerfulness. They feature bubbles in multiple shades that playfully bring together the five colors first introduced in the 2020 collection.

Worldly connection

The GMT Master II allows the wearer to view time in another time zone. This watch marks our connection to the world. The model is now available in two new versions: one in 18-carat yellow gold and one in yellow Rolesor. Both come with a Cerachrom bezel ring of gray and black ceramic, a completely new color combination.

Craftsmanship is evident in the choice of materials and precise workmanship, which together make the watch come into its own. The harmonious contrast between the brilliant gold of the Jubilee strap and the two-tone bezel with darker, less saturated colors recall the Earth's orbit around the sun and the alternation between day and night.
