The most special, inspiring and popular works of art from these editions will return to Amsterdam's waters, consisting of a variety of techniques and applications of light. A number of new artworks will also be on display, coming from education projects and collaborations. A total of 23 light artworks will illuminate the city during the anniversary edition of the light festival.

Celebrate Light

This year there will once again be a theme associated with Amsterdam Light Festival. The tenth edition will be dedicated to "Celebrate Light. To honor the theme, the light artworks will continue to illuminate the city even after 5 p.m., until 10 p.m. In this way, Amsterdam Light Festival will bring a little more illumination to the city during these dark days.

The light festival can be admired from the quay and the water. Amsterdam is most beautiful from the water it is said. You can find out for yourself by booking a canal cruise past all the works of art. In a comfortable canal boat you will let yourself sail past all the light artworks.

No sea legs or just looking at the artworks at your own leisure? A digital map with descriptions of each object guides you along the artworks. And you can opt for an audio tour, where you can explore winter Amsterdam while listening.

You can experience the organized boating and walking experiences from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00. On your own initiative, you can admire the light show from 07.00 to 22.00. Buy your tickets here.
