UK company makes scale model of Max Verstappen's F1 car

Good scale models of cars accurately capture the essence of a vehicle; the curves, contours and the smallest details. But sometimes a scale model also captures an unforgettable moment in motorsport history. A company from the United Kingdom has managed to make almost an exact copy of our Max Verstappen's Red Bull racing Honda RB16B, to scale, that is...

The RB16B marks the iconic 1 F2021 season where Verstappen battled Lewis Hamilton. The intense battle came down to the final lap of the race in Abu Dhabi where Verstappen was ultimately crowned world champion.

Overall, the Red Bull RB16B achieved eleven victories, twelve other podium finishes, ten pole positions and eight fastest laps, scoring 585,5 points and of course ultimately winning the championship.

The English company Amalgaam Collection was inspired and made a 1:8 scale model. The company received full approval from the Red Bull team and stayed true to the actual Honda RB16B by using the Red Bull team's design drawings and color codes. The model was made and finished by hand. In total, the model took more than 2500 hours of development and a further 250 hours of work to cast, paint and assemble the moulds. Ultimately, the model was further examined in detail by Red Bull's engineering and design team to ensure complete accuracy. Only 99 models will be made in total. The price of this souvenir of the iconic F1 season is approx 10.000.
