Ferrari's crypto revolution

Some cryptos in an old sock? Good news, because Ferrari recently announced that they will now accept cryptocurrency as a payment method for their luxurious cars.

However, European customers will have to be patient a little longer. Paying with crypto is now only possible in the US. In 2024, the option will also be available for Europeans.

The car manufacturer accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum and the US Coin as payment methods. It is not the case that Ferrari wants to collect cryptocurrency itself. Through the collaboration with BitPay, the cryptocurrency for dealers is immediately converted into traditional currency.

Not the first

Ferrari is not the first company to accept crypto. Automobile pioneer Tesla already accepted Bitcoin in 2021. However, CEO, Elon Musk, stopped this shortly afterwards 'because his love for Bitcoin was over'. The currency's large ecological footprint would no longer match its objectives. From that moment on, it was no longer possible to pay with the coin at Tesla.

Ferrari seems less concerned about this point. Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, Enrico Galliera, stated that the company's goals of being carbon neutral by 2030 remain intact.
