This is to honor the legacy of the deceased designer. Familiar America once again turned out well. MASTERS lists a number of striking outfits from the most extravagant fashion party of the year.
The actor and singer wowed audiences with his Balmain look featuring a hand-drawn illustration by the late designer. Many called the actor's outfit the perfect way to honor him. The cape consists of 5000 (!) meters of silk chiffon and was made by a total of 70 people. To complete the look, he opted for simple black flared trousers.
In tribute to the jewel that Lagerfeld often used in his works, Kardashian wore a full pearl ensemble. The custom naked dress of Schiaparelli's Daniel Roseberry was covered with 50.000 freshwater pearls for the occasion. The SKIMS founder and reality star completed her look with a diamond and pearl choker, diamond stud earrings, white pearl encrusted heels and yes, a pearl anklet. Her plus-one for the evening? Her own daughter North.
The most striking outfit of the evening was that of actor Jared Leto. He decided to attend the event dressed as Lagerfeld's Burmese cat, Choupet. And no, not subtle cat ears, but a complete cat costume, with removable head...
Rihanna opted for a white Maison Valentino dress with a long train. In addition, she wore an ivory top covered with rosettes, which completely enveloped her torso and head. Boyfriend A$AP Rocky dressed in Gucci and wore a black blazer, a white shirt and a checked kilt over his baggy jeans. With his outfit he refers to a similar look that Lagerfeld wore on the Chanel catwalk in 2004.
Dressed in a patterned Chanel dress, Anna Wintour went for an elegant and classic look. However, her outfit was not the talk of the town. With actor Bill Nighy on her arm, the couple seemed to confirm their relationship. However, a representative of the actor contradicts this: ''Bill and Anna have been good friends for two decades. They are not in a relationship.”
