One photo says more than 1000 words

As part of the Colorful Edition, MASTERS EXPO, World Press Photo Foundation, offers the opportunity to present a selection of stories that won prizes between 2000 and 2021. These stories highlight the challenges faced by women, girls and communities around the world.

This photo exhibition emphasizes the importance that the Netherlands attaches to women's rights, gender equality and justice. The photos, taken by 17 photographers of 13 different nationalities, talk in their own way about topics such as sexism, violence against women, reproductive rights and access to equal opportunities. The stories put a magnifying glass on how women's and gender issues have developed in the 21st century, but also how photojournalism gives them a face.
