The film cost €186 million to make and ultimately earned €2 billion. Fun fact; the film's working title was initially Planet Ice, a little later this changed to Titanic. On December 19, it was exactly 25 years ago that viewers were able to enjoy the dramatic love story for the first time. The film will soon return to celebrate this anniversary and will be released in 4K and 3D.

The second Avatar film is now the third film by director James Cameron to exceed $2 billion, as Titanic and the first Avatar are also by him.

2. Avengers: Endgame

Avengers Endgame is the most successful film ever with a worldwide gross of € 2.6 billion. A lot of profit was made, because the production costs amounted to € 331 million. As the title suggests, Avengers Endgame is the final film in the Avengers series. In the finale, the audience got to see whether the Avengers, together with Captain Marvel and Ant-Man, will succeed in definitively defeating Thanos. The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo.
