THE GYGS: Sywert van Lienden refused transparency at LCH

A festive broadcast of The GYGS this week: it's the 50th! Gijrath & De Vlieger hand out beautiful gifts in the form of news about 'Sywert Gate'. Today the gentlemen bring the news that images were not broadcast yesterday by the current affairs program Een Nooit, in which Van Ark initially said, 'that in principle it is not a policy to pay in advance'. After the Minister's spokesperson contacted the editors of Een Today, it was decided that this statement would not be broadcast. This became apparent after research by The GYGS. Gijrath & De Vlieger also learned that Sywert van Lienden was asked to leave the building during an appointment at the National Aids Consortium (LCH) in mid-April 2020. In this conversation with several suppliers and partners of the LCH, the approach was to jointly share all information in order to realize the right deal to ensure that healthcare could be provided with approved face masks as quickly as possible, at the right price. All information had to be on the table. Van Lienden did not want to cooperate without competition. After which he was asked to leave the building. Van Lienden's first proposal was then rejected by the LCH. Nevertheless, Van Lienden still received approval for the delivery around April 19. Who made the call? Of course, the regular features are also discussed again, cake is eaten and the gentlemen have recorded a song especially for Sywert: Daar Komt Sywertje. Curious? Check out the trailer.
