Art driven by music

After a successful career as a DJ and designer, Rep Ringel decided to combine his passion for music with painting and launched a unique concept: Art driven by Music. His exclusivity consists of raw, abstract and unpolished paintings of large formats with special finishes of 24-carat gold. “I paint to music. I put on music and then I translate it into paintings. Three years ago I also started photographing my artwork. I do everything myself: graphic design, building websites, painting and photography.”

Silence and Silence Gold

Silence is a new photographic art series born from the paintings of Rep Ringel. For this new series, the paintings have all been photographed with a special technique, creating completely new images. “I photograph the paintings in a special way, namely with a macro lens. This focuses one detail of the painting and blurs the rest. By focusing on a small element from the large work, an alienation and at the same time a recognition can be seen and felt. It looks like some kind of landscape. The photos are made in the best quality and glued behind museum glass. The Silence Gold photos are the masterpieces that are published very exclusively in a limited edition. These will be very matte images and will hang floating in a beautiful frame.”

Something new

“The plan was to sell my artwork at fairs and exhibitions. This was not possible due to Covid-19, so that is why I have built a shop on my website so that people can order my new Silence series online.”

MASTERS League

“Last year I became a member of the MASTERS League. I immediately received a nice pin. Unfortunately I had an appointment so I could not sail on the Amstel. The other events were during the fair in December and I was there with my own stand. So even then I couldn't be there. Hopefully I'll be there next year!”
