27e on the list of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2022 and has had three stars continuously since 2005. While you enjoy dishes such as 'Grilled lobster with black garlic' and 'Blue crab and caviar', you will continue to be amazed by the fantastic view.

Basque Country on the canal

In addition to branches in cities such as Porto, London and Valencia, Sagardi also has a restaurant in Amsterdam. With a pincho bar on the Spuistraat side and the restaurant on the Singel side. Authentic dishes from the Basque Country are served there, made from ingredients specially flown in from Spain. Think of starters such as traditionally grilled 'Txistorra' (Basque sausage) from Orio and grilled 'morcilla' (blood sausage) from Biscay. And then the artisanal sourdough bread after a 48-hour fermentation... You don't know what you taste! The same applies to the meat: after it has matured in special cabinets, it is put on the grill in large chunks. But Sagardi is not only a must for carnivores. When I ate there, we were surprised by chef Iñaki López de Viñaspre. Dinner consisted mainly of dishes with vegetables and wild fish, also from the grill. An absolute must order: the fresh hand-picked 'piquillo' peppers, grilled over a wood fire.
