Ready to dominate the sea: Stratos' Dutch Built 50

Visitors to MASTERS EXPO are the very first in the world to admire the Dutch Built 50 from Stratos. Yesterday the yacht was unveiled at the Lengers Yachts stand. Ready to dominate the raging sea…

The Dutch Built 50 from Stratos will revolutionize its class. From the Stratos Shipyard in Lelystad the yacht made her 'Maiden Voyage' to the fair. Visitors to MASTERS EXPO are the first in the world to admire the Dutch Built 50.

The DB50 is the brainchild of Bas Lengers, an authority with more than 40 years of experience in the nautical world. His keen insight revealed a gap in the market for a vessel in the 50ft segment that combines the sophistication of a superyacht with class-leading seaworthiness and engineering.

Tribute to Dutch excellence

The name “Stratos” has its origins in the word 'stratosphere', symbolizing the heights of quality, functionality, and performance that the ship aims to reach. The Stratos team uses this term every day, with every detail carefully considered and every aspect fully developed. “No expense has been spared on attention.” emphasizes Lengers.

As CEO of the international company and the driving force behind Stratos, Bas Lengers has gathered leading experts from the Dutch superyacht industry to realize his vision. The end result is a tribute to Dutch excellence, the equivalent of an SUV on water, designed to sail effortlessly anywhere, even in the most challenging weather conditions, at speeds of up to 36 knots. “I felt that the 50 ft category needed a powerful, resilient and robust ship, a ship that is actually seaworthy and meets superyacht standards,” explains Bas. The DB50 is powered by the latest twin Volvo Penta IPS system and is equipped with the most advanced technology on board.

Highest possible classification

Due to its combination of power and style, the DB50 is built according to CE classification A, the highest possible classification. This means that the ship is suitable for longer voyages, can withstand wind speeds of more than 8 Beaufort and significant wave heights of more than four meters. The DB50's nautical range is equally impressive, ranging from 400 to 450 miles.

When Bas Lengers decided to create the most seaworthy ship in its class, his aim was also to make it the most iconic ship in that category. The company joined forces with naval architects Sea Level and designer Bernd Weel. The development process of the hardtop alone took a year, resulting in a striking carbon structure, equipped with an automatic sliding roof. The interior design is designed with the same robust lines that you find on the outside,” says Weel. For example, carbon fibers are seamlessly integrated into the design, such as carbon handrails with LED lighting accents.
