J12∙20

The J12, in radiant and scratch-resistant black ceramic, became an icon of the 21e century. A white version debuted in 2013 and it also has timeless qualities.

With the J12, Chanel conquered the women's wrist and gave it new allure. The 20th anniversary of the J12 is being playfully celebrated with a collection of no fewer than twenty different models. These watches feature the powerful Chanel symbols such as the 2.55 bag, the camellia, the N°5 bottle and even a tweed jacket.

The remarkable J12 ∙ 20 celebrates its twentieth anniversary with 12 diamonds and radiantly polished patterns on the bezel and dial. The watch is sublimely rebellious and shows absolute creative freedom in a limited edition of 2.020 pieces. The J12 ∙ 20 is equipped with the caliber 12.1 and is also available in an enamelled haute Horlogerie version that is limited to 5 pieces.

J12 Paradox

Black or white? In 2020, the J12 no longer has to choose. For the first time, black and white come together. Without really mixing. The straight line creates a paradox. It is a line with allure. The J12 Paradox combines light with mystery. Day with night. Sometimes the watch accidentally reveals the secret: it emerges from under the cuff of a jacket or the fold of a blouse.

The unique aesthetic of the J12 Paradox is the result of an excellent technical achievement. And this has been achieved by seamlessly joining two parts of different sizes – one white, the other black. Together they form one cabinet made of scratch-resistant ceramic.

J12 Paradox

Special expertise is required to ensure a perfect line without breaking the ceramic. Chanel is an expert in the field of ceramics and masters every aspect. In the factory in Switzerland, the two case parts are assembled on a metal construction in which the sapphire glass back of the case is also placed. A very precise watch construction specially designed for the unique two-tone dial and bezel of the J12 Paradoxe.

The dial initially appears almost completely white, but then suddenly there is an abrupt transition to black. The bezel also has a sharp black contrast and forms a color line with the dial and case. The white and black require perfect alignment and this is done very precisely, demarcated by the band of white ceramic links.

The two-tone identity of the J12 Paradox creates a stark and dramatic contrast when the watch is viewed from the front. It perfectly emphasizes that black and white complement each other and are not exclusive. Black and white shine side by side in the heart of a watch.
