URB

Developer URB's ambitious concept consists of a sustainable, floating community for marine research, regeneration and ecotourism including housing, catering, shops, education and research facilities. In addition, the project includes an artificial reef, covering an area of 200 square kilometers that could be home to more than a billion corals and 100 million mangrove trees.

According to URB, the health of cities is inextricably linked to the health of the oceans: ''The ocean is the source of life that controls everything. However, our ocean will look completely different by the end of this century if we don't act today." According to the developer, Dubai, as an innovative coastal city, is best positioned to lead such a transformation.
