This is: the youngest crypto billionaire

It almost sounds like a fairy tale, but a modern version: Vitalik Buterin fled Russia at the age of three, dropped out of college and became co-founder of Ethereum. Six years later, at the age of 27, he could call himself the world's youngest crypto billionaire with 330.000 Ethereum coins. After the airwaves crash last week, it seems Vitalik is just shy of calling himself a billionaire. At the current price, his assets are approximately 670 million euros. Which is of course not a bad thing...Text: Fleur de Jong

High IQ

Vitalik was born in 1994 in the Russian town called Column. At the age of three, Vitalik moved to Canada with his family for better job opportunities.

When this boy got his first computer, he became fascinated with Excel. He turned out to be a very mathematical boy with reportedly an exceptionally high IQ of no less than 257, while the average is around 100. Vitalik also appears to have learned Chinese fluently within 3 months. Vitalin attended the University of Waterloo, Ontario. However, the young Vitalin did not complete this training. In 2014, the 27-year-old programmer was selected to be part of the Thiel fellowship. A two-year program created by billionaire Peter Thiel that gives young people a gift of 81.000 euros to develop new things. With this money, Vitalik created a start-up, a community and was able to conduct scientific research. From that moment on, Vitalik decided to fully focus on crypto.

In 2013, at the age of 19, Vitalik created Ethereum, this currency was launched in 2015. With 330.000 ethereum coins, the 27-year-old Vitalik was a crypto billionaire, but due to the crash of ether last week the coin fell below $1.900, causing Vitalik, like many other investors, to lose a large portion of his personal wealth. The currency's nosedive costs Vitalik his billionaire status. While the ether price is slowly rising again, it is still very low from the record high of $4.384 on May 11. In general, Vitalik remains confident in crypto, but he warned in an interview with CNN that crypto coins such as Bitcoin could form a bubble that needs to be punctured.

Support from charities

In addition to being the founder of Ethereum, Vitalik is also the founder of Bitcoin Magazine, which writes all kinds of articles about cryptocurrencies. Vitalik's fortune is large, but so is his heart. This crypto personality recently donated more than 1 billion euros in crypto to the India Covid Relief Fund, among others. Buterin made the donation by dumping huge amounts of dog-themed meme tokens, which he received from the makers of the Shiba Inu coin (SHIB), Dogelon (ELON) and Akita Inu (AKITA).Read here an article about the mother of Elon Musk.
