Balmain launches Stranger Things collection

Olivier Rousteing is praised by many as Creative Director of Balmain. At the age of just 25, he took the helm of one of the largest French fashion houses. But besides fashion, he also has a great love for the series Stranger Things. This even inspired him to launch a special collection that is available from this week.

Stranger Things is a science fiction horror series set in Hawkins, Indiana. After a boy disappears from nowhere, his close-knit group of friends and family searches for answers.

For the collection, Rousteing was inspired by the 1985s, in which the series is set. In his own words, he is fascinated by the absolute perfection of our time. The music, graphics, colors, hair, make-up but especially the choice of clothing in the series: ''I was born in 1983 and the four seasons of Stranger Things take place in America from 1986-XNUMX, so of course none of this comes from not unlike what I experienced growing up in Bordeaux, France many years later. But how can you not be impressed by all those incredible looks? People who are familiar with my catwalk collections know that I have always been fascinated by the unique pop spirit of that time.'' When Netflix contacted the Creative Director for a Limited Edition Balmain x Stranger Things, he didn't hesitate for a moment.

The pieces from the collection showcase the bright colors that are known from the video clips and workout videos of the past. Also the wide sweaters of the so-called mallrats – the young people hanging around in shopping centers – from this time were an inspiration for the collection.

Also a fan of the series? This week the title of the fifth season was announced, namely: The Crawl. Furthermore, no information was shared about the date that the final season of Stranger Things will be shown.
