This is what the spring/summer 2026 trends look like

What do you get when you combine Japanese dreaminess with Dutch common sense and a keen eye for aesthetics? YUME YUME recently made its debut at Amsterdam Fashion Week. Big names like Billie Eilish, Peggy Gou, and Bella Hadid have already shown off their designs, but this time the spotlight was on home soil.

Europe's two biggest fashion weeks are over: Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week. Two European capitals, but two completely different styles. While Milan's catwalks overflowed with Italian craftsmanship, luxurious materials, and refined tailoring, Paris brought the quintessential French flair: a blend of elegance, playfulness, and artistic silhouettes.

Milan Fashion Week, September 23-29, 2025:

An unexpected trend color has emerged in Milan: orange. Anyone looking for an optimistic wardrobe update will find this shade a great option this season.

Also notable was the dress-over-trousers trend, which was seen not only at the major fashion houses in Milan, but also in Copenhagen and New York. Practical and fashionable, it's ideal for those who want to create a layered look that works equally well for the office or an event.

Embroidery and draped fabrics are also making a strong comeback. The soft, folded lines add dimension to each garment and make the trend versatile and wearable.

Finally, we saw the return of the no-pants trend: ultra-short shorts and sheer fabrics for those who dare out of the box to go.

Paris Fashion Week, from September 29 to October 7, 2025:

This year in Paris, it was all about contrasts: pastel colors versus bold (faux) leather looks. The most striking trend color was pink, pretty in pink, while the streets of Paris were full of organic shapes and natural tones, easily translated into business and everyday outfits.

Besides pink, we also saw a return of the '80s in abundance. Think shoulder pads, sharp silhouettes, and fitted blazers and blouses. These trends are perfect for giving business outfits a classic yet powerful look. The '80s also carried over to shoes: shapely heels were a regular sight on the catwalk, bringing height and character back to looks.

What awaits us in spring/summer 2026 are many contrasts: powerful yet soft, businesslike yet relaxed, and above all, innovative.
