Van van Ee celebrates forty years of outdoor living: meet De Floren
A roof is a roof? Not at De Floren. This outdoor space was developed from the idea that one type of roof simply will not do. Leading design, with room for light and air.

Outdoor living with indoor comfort – Van van Ee has been doing it since 1984. What once started as a sun protection company has grown over the years into a place where ideas for stylish outdoor living spaces are shaped and realised. Now, forty years later, this is being celebrated with a design that cannot be pigeonholed: De Floren.
No fixed lines here, but a playful composition of contrasts. A slatted roof that literally gives you space, next to a glass roof with wooden frame that lets in light and brings atmosphere.
The wall is reminiscent of warm vacation days – a gentle breeze, you get the idea. The combination of recycled felt, wood and rotating panels creates a subtle tension between calm and movement. Even the water drainage is in the background, concealed behind the glass.
German Design Award
Anyone who wants to experience for themselves how such an outdoor residence feels, is welcome in the showroom in Ede. There are several models on display, including Alysa: the design that was awarded a German Design Award. A freestanding garden room. A unique place that is defined by transparency thanks to the construction of the design that consists of 90% glass.
