The land of dizzying plateaus, golden sand dunes, condors, and hidden cities in the clouds. During MASTERS EXPO, Travel Legends will be presenting its latest customized trips to Peru in Hall 10. Can't wait? Here's a sneak peek.
Peru enchants. It's that rare blend of rugged nature, vibrant culture, and unexpected tranquility. According to Travel Legends, it's a destination that surprises you every single day. Not just through the landscape, but also through the encounters along the way: with alpacas, market vendors, guides, jungle animals, and ancient stories.
This trip was put together by Kas, Peru specialist at Travel Legends, who, thanks to his extensive experience, knows exactly where to go.
Llamas, markets and magical mountains
After a first night in Lima, you'll continue your journey to the high Andes region around Cusco. Travel Legends recommends taking your time here. According to the travel specialist, this is the perfect time to land and experience traditional mountain life. You'll visit an alpaca and llama farm, where you'll learn about the different species, such as the Huacaya and Suri alpaca—with their distinctive coats—and the llama, primarily used as a pack animal. You'll see how women dye wool with natural pigments from plants and minerals, and how they process it into colorful fabrics using traditional weaving techniques. A city tour of Cusco itself is essential, according to Travel Legends. Your guide, Rosa, will take you to Sacsayhuamán, at the top of the mountain, overlooking the city. You'll visit the Temple of the Sun, the cathedral, and the San Pedro Market, where the aromas of fruit, cheese, and spices fill the air.
Next comes Pisac, a village in the Sacred Valley with a lively market. According to Travel Legends, it's an ideal place to experience daily life: fragrant spices, handicrafts, colorful clothing, and live music in the background.
Machu Picchu: wow, just wow
The journey to Machu Picchu begins in Ollantaytambo, where you take the train to Aguas Calientes. Travel Legends calls this journey "an experience in itself," right through the cloud forest. After arriving, you'll ascend the mountain by bus, taking you through winding roads and dense jungle. And then you're there. In front of Machu Picchu. According to the travel specialist, it's "a place you can't see prepared. You stand still, look, and for a moment, you're speechless."
With your guide, Rosa, you'll complete Circuit 3, exploring the complex itself. The next morning, you'll return for Circuit 1: the famous postcard view. Travel Legends recommends doing both for the full experience.
Into the jungle
The final chapter of the journey takes place in the Amazon. Travel Legends flies you to Puerto Maldonado, after which you travel into the jungle by van and boat. On your first evening, you'll take a night walk, searching for spiders and insects with the sounds of the jungle as your backdrop. You'll sleep in the Rainforest Expedition Lodge, built entirely openly with only mesh. No traffic, no windows, just nature. Early in the morning, you'll visit the Clay Lick, where parrots gather to eat clay. Later, you'll take a jungle walk and climb to a 45-meter observation tower.
According to Travel Legends, this is “a place where you can be offline for a while, but even more connected to everything around you.” The lodge is sustainably built, the food is locally sourced, and the guides know the area like the back of their hand.
