Easter falls next Sunday. Whether you have finished the egg hunt or brunch with the in-laws, MASTERS has curated a selection of activities to make your Easter memorable.
Next Sunday is Easter. Finished hunting for eggs or having brunch with the in-laws and want to get out and about? MASTERS lists a number of activities that guarantee a wonderful Easter.
Culinary Easter lunch
In the seventeenth century, the Dutch republic experienced enormous growth, both economically and culturally. Many wealthy Amsterdammers fled the city at that time because of the sewage smell from the canals. Many country estates were created during this time. This also applies to the Duin en Kruidberg estate. In 2023 you can enjoy a four-course Easter lunch in the renovated restaurant in the middle of the wooded landscape.
St. Matthew Passion in the Concertgebouw
De St. Matthew Passion is considered the favorite composition in the Netherlands during the Passion. Created by Johann Sebastian Bach, the piece tells the Passion of Christ in which symbolism plays a major role. Bach wrote specific roles for both instruments and soloists. The narrator takes you as a visitor through the story and is alternated by the choir. The concert can be attended this coming Sunday, April 9, both in the evening and in the afternoon.
Easter races
Would you rather enjoy some action during Easter? For years, the so-called Easter races at Circuit Zandvoort have been the kick-off of the racing season. According to the organizers, the races on April 8 and 9 will be packed with motorsport spectacle. The competitions are held by various racing classes from the DNRT Clubsport series.
