It's already one of the world's most luxurious trains, but The Belmond Royal Scotsman is about to get even more glamorous with the launch of two new suites. How about an extensive spa on board?
Since 1985, the Royal Scotsman has been offering scenic tours through the heart of the Scottish Highlands. On board, the single and double cabins can accommodate up to 40 guests. The company recently announced the arrival of two chic new Grand Suites that will be accessible to passengers in May 2024.
The suites were designed by Paris-based interior designer Tristan Auer. In the style of a country house with a classic nod to Scottish culture. For example, hhe interior features handcrafted wall coverings and upholstery that reflect the rich colors of the Scottish Highlands landscape, as well as dark wood paneling with detailed inlay work.
Spa on board
Although the excursions along the way include visits to castles and various distilleries, you don't actually have to step off the ship for a little fun. The bar on the train is stocked with more than 50 types of whiskey. But the most unique is the Bamford Haybarn Spa. Enjoy an extensive massage, body scrub or aromatherapy in one of the two treatment rooms while the Scottish landscape passes by.
