In 2026, Avila Reizen presents a series of unique travel experiences to Morocco, Peru, and Rwanda. In collaboration with artist Jimmy Nelson, the travel organization has created three carefully curated journeys focusing on culture, nature, and genuine connection. No rush, no mass tourism, but mindful travel.
For over four decades, Jimmy Nelson has traveled the world, meeting communities deeply connected to nature and to each other. His journeys aren't about distance, but about depth. He enters places where authenticity, respect, and attention are paramount. Jimmy invites others to share this way of seeing. His gaze is an invitation: to look with your eyes, but to see with your heart. And precisely that now forms the basis for a special collaboration.
Avila Reizen has developed a series of exclusive curated journeys in collaboration with Jimmy Nelson; carefully designed trips for a select group. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Jimmy Nelson Foundation, which is committed to preserving cultural heritage.
The collaboration was officially launched during MASTERS EXPO.
Morocco – between mountains, city and silence
This four-day trip introduces you to Morocco's rich landscape of contrasts. You'll explore Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains, take a hot air balloon ride at sunrise, and hike through traditional Berber villages.
The journey is short, but intense. From the tranquil desert to the bustling souks: you'll experience Morocco in all its facets.
Departure date: March 28 to 31, 2026
Peru – in the footsteps of the Incas
This trip is linked to the Inti Raymi festival in Cusco, a centuries-old celebration of the summer solstice. You'll travel through the Sacred Valley, visit Machu Picchu, and explore villages where traditions are still alive.
Besides the well-known highlights, there's also attention to smaller stories: markets, ceremonies, and conversations with locals. You'll travel in a group of 6 to 16 people, guided by Jimmy Nelson and his team.
Departure date: June 18 to 26, 2026
Rwanda – nature in its purest form
You'll travel through the green heart of Africa: Rwanda. The country is known for its vast rainforests, impressive mountain landscapes, and exceptional biodiversity. During this trip, you'll experience chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.
You'll also visit traditional villages, local markets, and tea plantations, with plenty of time for conversation and connection. The group size is 6 to 16 participants. The pace is deliberately slow, with an eye for detail, silence, and deepening.
Departure date: August 29 to September 4, 2026
