The sun is high in the sky, the temperature is rising and you want to go to the beach. But of course at your very best. So in the latest bikini and, if possible, with a tight beach body and smooth skin. Various cosmetic treatments are possible to help achieve this. But do sun and cosmetic surgery actually go together? Plastic surgeon Dr. Kazem from Kazem Aesthetica gives some advice.Image: Kazem Aesthetica
Which cosmetic treatments are recommended for the summer period?
“In preparation for the beach season, treatments that beautify the body contours are particularly interesting. Such as the non-operative coolsculpting, to reduce fat in difficult areas and EmSculpt, to build and accentuate muscles. Botox can also be a good treatment for people who suffer from excessive sweating.”
How do you best protect the body after a summer treatment?
“Whether you have undergone treatment or not; it is always very important to drink enough. This hydrates and cleanses your body, which is of the utmost importance. Also use a good sunscreen with a high protection factor. And wear good sunglasses that prevent you from squinting too much. That saves unnecessary crow's feet around the eyes.”

As a renowned plastic surgeon, you are always working to work ethically. Which treatment would you advise against in the summer?
“Laser treatments for skin improvement, such as Clear + Brilliant or Fraxel I would advise against it, because after this you have to be extra careful about exposure to too much sun. I would also advise against major surgical procedures, because too much sun does not contribute to optimal recovery of scar tissue. Even after chemical peels, there can be a risk of pigment formation if exposed to too much sunlight.”
