Book an AirBnB in Ukraine
To help Ukrainians directly, stays are booked en masse in Ukrainian cities. When you book a stay, you will obviously not stay there. But with this you can support the Ukrainian owners financially and it is a good, creative way to help people directly.
Donate to Giro555
Giro555 raises money in exceptional humanitarian disasters, collects and shares information about disaster areas and reports on how donations have been spent. This also applies to the situation in Ukraine. Giro555 distributes the money raised among participating aid organizations, such as The Red Cross, Oxfam Novib, UNICEF Netherlands and the Refugee Foundation. They use this money for emergency aid and reconstruction in Ukraine, such as providing food, shelter, clean drinking water and medical care. Go to the Giro555 website for more information and donation.
Get sponsored
Do you like running, cycling or another activity? Set yourself a goal and have it sponsored by friends, family or companies to raise money for Ukraine. For example, you can set up a campaign via the Giro555 website to raise money individually, with friends, sports team or colleagues. You can also join an existing promotion. Join now click here.
Offer shelter
Do you have space in your home and would you like to open your home to Ukrainians? Then you can register as a host family to accommodate people who are urgently looking for shelter. Via the VluchtelingenWerk foundation you can find all information about what this involves and how you can register.
Become a volunteer
Many people have now fled and the Netherlands is ready to offer protection to the Ukrainians. The Council for Refugees is ready in every asylum seeker center in the Netherlands with a team of employees and volunteers to receive refugees during this difficult and emotional time. Would you like to lend a helping hand? Then register here .
Collect supplies
Campaigns are being set up throughout the country to collect items for people who need them. Think of clothing, blankets, diapers, medication and much more. This is how you can here find a map of the Netherlands with the location of many collection points and here an overview of other ways you can help.
