Rudi – Haunted by 9/11

The Amsterdammer Rudi Dekkers made world news in 2001 because it was he who trained the 9/11 hijackers at his flight school in Venice, Florida. The flight instructor has always steadfastly maintained that he never knew what the pair were up to. Pursued by nightmares, creditors and aviation authorities, Rudi loses everything. After the media storm subsides, Rudi slowly gets his life back on track, until something turns his life completely upside down again. The three-part documentary includes Rudi himself, a former American correspondent Max Westerman and former FBI agent Kerry Myers back to the attacks and Rudi's involvement.

Worth (2020)

Worth tells the story of a lawyer Kenneth Feinberg. In the lawyer's lectures that he teaches, Feinberg asks his students to think about the question: "What is a life worth?" A difficult legal issue that arises all too often. In a wrongful death case, how does an attorney determine how much money is owed to the victim's family? After 9/11, a fund is set up to compensate surviving relatives. It is up to Feinberg, his partner Camille Biros and their team of legal experts to come up with a formula within two years that determines the financial value of every American who died on 9/11. Naturally, the relatives do not agree with Feinberg's calculations. For example, why is a dishwasher worth less than a CEO? Worth shows that sometimes justice does not exist, but that if people look beyond a devised system and rules, humanity can compensate for this.

Worth can be seen in Dutch cinemas from September 9.

My 9/11

Investigate in this documentary diptych Sinan Can en Floortje Dessing the impact 9/11 had on the world. After the attacks, America bombarded Afghanistan with bombs on October 7, 2001, because the Taliban were said to have provided shelter to Al-Qaeda. Sinan travels to Afghanistan and Floortje to the United States, where they portray people who still experience the consequences of this day every day. During the documentary it becomes clear that the suffering, emotions and problems in their lives of these people in both countries have more in common than you would think in advance...
