Last weekend, on October 9 and 10, 2021, took place on The Duke Club in Nistelrode the spectacular MEXPO golf tournament of M place. The weekend was of course all about golf, but also about meeting each other, networking, enthusiasm, fun and delicious food and drinks. MASTERS takes you to this successful weekend. MEXPO golf tournament

Last weekend, the exclusive members-only The Duke Club was completely dedicated to the MASTERS MEXPO golf tournament. The morning sun appeared and the first guests trickled into the clubhouse of golf mecca The Duke Club. On Saturday, the fanatic group consisted of relations, celebrities and friends of the house. On Sunday it was the honor of the members of The Duke Club. Upon arrival, the players were excited to meet each other, network, exchange golf tips and enjoy breakfast at the same time. During Yves' welcome speech, the players' enthusiasm was clearly palpable and everyone was encouraged to share their golf skills with the colorful group, because of course only one can be the best. Of course, in addition to eternal fame, the impressive prizes were also enough reason to go all out to be declared the best golfer(s).

Let the games begin…

After Yves's welcome speech, the avid golfers left for the holes with a good dose of energy to show what they have to offer. Of course it is also a day about fun and networking. And that was done! All while enjoying beautiful weather with a radiant sun. The various holes of The Duke Club were the scene of the weekend and there was a lot of talking, laughing and of course some serious golf.

While playing, the golfers could enjoy a spectacular performance by illusionist Victor Mids at Scotch Whiskey Investments, a cup of coffee or tea from De Eenhoorn, salmon from The Big Green Egg, wines from Vinites and a trip on the water with a Schiller pedal boat should certainly not be skipped.

All golfers who participated in MEXPO were able to hit a decent ball, but beating a real pro is a different story. Golf pro Robert-Jan Derksen dared and challenged every player to compete against him in the game Beat The Pro: a battle for honor and an annual subscription to De Kapiteinenlijn. Who would not want that? No fewer than nine golfers managed to call themselves Captain after this day and beat Derksen.

The final battle

The climax arrived at 17.00 p.m.: a blood-curdling final battle between the best golfers of the day. The game was played for a reason and the winner could win a beautiful watch from GASSAN, and of course eternal fame. After an exciting battle under the watchful eye of all players, the winner, Frank Pulles, ultimately received GASSAN's watch. After raising a glass together, it was time for everyone to get ready for dinner, where the best flight of MEXPO was announced.

And the winner is...

During dinner, guests enjoyed a three-course menu, consisting of a sea bass ceviche with King crab and caviar, grain-fed beef tenderloin with foie gras curls as a main course, corn structures with red wine sauce and a pumpkin-butterscotch whiskey for dessert. The tension rose when Yves announced the winners. After the company went wild at Snollebollekes by receiving the poodle prize and the winner of The Longest Drive received a real Big Green Egg, the winners were announced. Led by the song 'We Are The Champions' by Queen, the best flight of MEXPO 2021, represented by Edwin van der Sar, David Bijlsma and Erik Pieterse, each proudly took a bottle of champagne, spent the night in Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin, a received a jacket from Suittruck and of course the coveted MEXPO trophy. Then, while enjoying a drink and music, they looked back on a fantastic and fanatical day that will not soon be forgotten. See you next year!
