They are also called the Oscars of the bicycle industry: the Design & Innovation Awards. Merida won the prestigious prize with its ONE-SIXTY enduro mountain bike.

MERIDA has been a global leader in racing and mountain bikes for 50 years. In recent years, the brand has already won the award with, among others, the ONE-TWENTY, eONE-SIXTY, REACTO, SILEX, eSILEX and SCULTURA TEAM. Now the innovative ONE-SIXTY can also join the list.

The Design & Innovation Awards are presented annually by a professional jury after extensive testing of the latest products in the bicycle industry. This jury consists of 30 experienced journalists, test riders and other experts from the cycling world. All submissions are then thoroughly tested in practice for two weeks and then discussed in detail.

"Merida is taking a bold step with the new ONE-SIXTY"

The ONE-SIXTY underwent the most extensive design and testing process in Merida's 51-year history before its launch. The award is therefore also a nice reward for the hard work.

Thought out

The jury judged the innovative bicycle as follows: ''With the new ONE-SIXTY, Merida is taking a bold step: an enduro bicycle where the size is chosen based on personal preference in terms of riding characteristics, instead of a size based on one's physique. This is possible through a simple but innovative solution in geometry. An extremely short seat tube that is combined with the Merida Team TR dropper seat post. This one drop has an impressive 230mm travel and therefore gives you the option to switch between 30mm and 230mm seat height. As a result, it is not your inseam that determines the size of the bicycle, but your riding style. In addition to this progressive frame concept, the Merida ONE-SIXTY is equipped with countless valuable and well-thought-out features that make this bike a truly versatile and robust enduro bike. For example, a mini tool is hidden under the saddle and the Essential Tool Wrap is hidden in a storage compartment at the bottom of the frame."

In the Benelux, this progressive frame concept is available in the Merida ONE-FORTY.
