Merida Scultura Team wins Design and Innovation Gold Award

In the ten-year history of this prestigious fair in Asia, an international jury panel selects nominees every year from a large number of applications from all over the world. In the 'complete bicycle' category, the SCULTURA managed to impress the jury and was awarded the 'GOLD award for most exceptional design and innovation'The new MERIDA SCULTURA TEAM has retained its well-known lightweight racing DNA but has improved enormously in terms of aerodynamics. For example, tests in the wind tunnel showed that the updated frameset has significantly less air resistance: in wattage this saves 4,3 watts at a speed of 45 km/h. In addition, comfort has been further improved with a 38% reduction in vertical stiffness from the bottom bracket to the saddle. Space for tires up to 30mm wide and extending the seat post by 40mm also give endurance and comfort a significant boost.

After an extremely successful launch of the new SCULTURA TEAM in mid-2021, this award emphasizes the excellent reputation of this bike. In addition to rave reviews and tests by various media and fanatical cyclists all over the world, the victories already achieved in the UCI World Tour races also speak for themselves. Team Bahrain Victorious has also achieved several victories on the renewed MERIDA SCULTURA in 2022, including by 'our' own Wout Poels.
