It's almost World Animal Day and while most pets are looking forward to some extra attention, there are four-legged friends who are in the spotlight all year round. From lavish lifestyles to impressive bank accounts, these four-legged friends have more than just a bone to chew on.

5. Jiffpom

Jiffpom, the famous Pomeranian and Instagram star with 9.5 million followers, is ranked number five on the list of the richest pets. With an estimated net worth of $23.5 million, Jiffpom has built his fortune through lucrative sponsorship deals. For a single sponsored post, he can earn up to $30.000. In addition to his online fame, he has also starred in Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” music video and appeared in commercials for brands like Target and Banana Republic, further increasing his net worth. However, there has been no new activity on his social media accounts since February 2024, fueling rumors that Jiffpom may have passed away.

4. Sadie, Sunny & Lauren

Oprah Winfrey's dogs, Sadie, Sunny and Lauren, are in fourth place on the list and could be expected to inherit a whopping $28.5 million. Winfrey, who has an estimated net worth of $2.4 billion, set up a trust fund for her dogs in 2007 to ensure their lavish lifestyle when she's gone. Even her will was rewritten to ensure her pups won't go hungry after she passes away.

3. Olivia Benson

Taylor Swift is of course known as catlady. The singer has already adopted three four-legged friends: Meredith, Benjamin and Olivia. The latter now tops the list with an estimated net worth of €92 million. She owes her fortune not only to Instagram, but mainly to her appearances in music videos such as 'Blank Space' and 'Me'. The cat also has her own merchandise line.

2. Nala Cat

From shelter cat to one of the world’s richest pets – Nala is living proof that cats do indeed have multiple lives… With a net worth of around 94 million, the feline is the star of her own business empire. It all started when owner Varisiri “Pookie” Methachittiphan started an Instagram account for her adopted cat in 2012. With her cross-eyed gaze, Nala quickly won over millions of hearts, eventually leading to her own pet food brand ‘Love, Nala’. In addition to her successful business, Nala holds the Guinness World Record for the cat with the most followers on Instagram – over 4.5 million. Per post, this means an extra €14.000 in the coffers.

1. Gunther VI

A Miami mansion that once belonged to Madonna, a yacht and a private jet that he regularly flies to Italy: Gunther VI is one of the most notable multimillionaires in the world. With an estimated net worth of €368 million, the German Shepherd is the richest dog in the world. In 1992, a so-called countess named Karlotta Leibenstein left a considerable inheritance of $80 million to her beloved dog, Gunther III, after the tragic loss of her son. The responsibility for managing this fortune fell to Maurizio Mian, an Italian entrepreneur and family friend, who expanded the inheritance to around €377 million through the 'Gunther Trust'. In 2023, however, a Netflix documentary revealed that this beautiful story is partly fabricated. The fortune turned out to have come from Mian's family in order to circumvent tax laws. Despite the fictional origins, Gunther VI remains the Guinness record holder for the richest dog in the world.
