McLaren Artura: To the Future

All previous notes have been wiped off the board and McLaren has started with a clean slate. It's time for an all-new McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture and high-performance hybrid powertrain. All rules have been rewritten and boundaries pushed for the McLaren Artura. Aerodynamics play a key role in taking performance to an even higher level. McLaren is taking a step towards the future. The Artura is equipped with a brand new V6 engine with twin turbochargers (680 hp). The engine is 50 kilograms lighter than the previously used V8 and produces the highest horsepower/liter per kilogram of any V6 on the market. The 'V' angle of 120° ensures optimal weight distribution. Here too you will find the philosophy of weight saving; the transmission and even the E-motor have been made as light as possible. Everything for impressive performance. Think of a sprint from 0 to 100 in 3,0 seconds and a maximum speed of 330 km/h.

Focus on road and emotion

The Artura immediately makes a powerful statement: it is the lightest plug-in hybrid supercar of the moment, with the lowest center of gravity. The all-new McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) takes weight savings to a high level. The new monocoque is lighter than the previous design; only 82 kilograms in total weight. The Artura is shaped in such a way that it uses the airflow optimally. The new, hidden intake channels in the doors direct air over, under and through the body. The rear spoiler and diffuser generate 50 kilograms of downforce for ultimate stability.

The Artura is all about the driver. The cockpit is so clear and individually shaped that your focus is solely on the road and the emotion. The cabin is larger and offers considerably more leg, knee and shoulder room. Comfort and quality are paramount when choosing materials and controls. Two sharp, clear HD screens provide full colors, razor-sharp resolution and 3D graphics. But in addition to the new screens, the Artura also features McLaren Track Telemetry, voice control, Emergency Call and Over-the-Air software updates. And as you would expect, you can also use Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. With a supercar, details are just as important as the whole. And the McLaren Artura is great down to the last detail.
