Mariska Jagt: "consider, reflect, change and grow"
Owner and Creative Director Mariska Jagt and her team realize project after project in the high segment. The past year was a good time for her to reflect and reflect, which manifested itself in good developments at a business level. Jagt writes her column for MASTERS about the winning mentality, the complete interior experience and the new products & accessories that Studio Mariska Jagt will bring to the market. Text: Mariska Jagt “Where my agenda before the outbreak of the corona pandemic was sufficient with outside appointments - from events and lunches to dinners and networking drinks – I suddenly saw empty spaces in my agenda. Fortunately, work continued as normal, but I no longer had to drive from here to here and appear everywhere and nowhere. To be honest, I found that peace very pleasant. I was able to spend the many hours that remained at home and at the Studio, asking myself the questions about where we stand as a company, what we stand for, what my personal motivation is and where I want to go with the Studio.
This time for contemplation and reflection has led, among other things, to streamlining processes and introducing more structure within the company. We will focus entirely on designing interiors, exteriors, products and accessories. We initially took care of the realization of our projects, but it is now in the hands of my permanent partner Nico van Duijn Interior & Project Services. We now only supervise the realization on an aesthetic level. Once the project is complete, we are responsible for the styling. This way we do what we are really good at and we can focus our full attention on it. We will also work in design teams consisting of an architect/technical draftsman, a senior designer, a junior designer and a stylist. This makes it more interesting for every individual to work on a project and it produces a better result because synergy is created. With these changes and of course with our creativity, perseverance and passion, I want to raise customer experience and customer satisfaction to the highest level and thus grow into the best design studio in the Netherlands. We have been playing in the Champions League for years and we want to win it. You will see how I will achieve this next year if you follow me in the media and on social media. Various products and accessories from us are brought onto the market. We will also focus more on stimulating all the senses, so that it is no longer just about a beautiful picture, but about a complete and perfect story. So many changes, but they will lead to an even higher level of our projects and even happier faces for our clients.
Of course, I also saw the necessary changes in our work last year. For example, we designed stylish and comfortable workplaces in the home more often than before and noticed that when a household consists of several people, the need for their own space increases. Lounge seating areas are being created in bedrooms, for example, where residents can retreat for a while. Think of it as a literal distance to relax and recharge.”
