This 137-meter long yacht, designed by Pierpaolo Lazzarini, has the shape of a stylized swan. The wheelhouse is located at the top of the head. When the 'neck' moves forward, this wheelhouse ends up in the water and turns into an independently sailing ship. The superyacht is powered by an MTU Rolls-Royce Jet engine, good for a speed of 18 knots. The stern also has room for two Jet Capsules: two speedboats that, once clicked into place, can help propel the Avanguardia. There is also a swimming pool, two helipads and an on-board garage, so that the (maximum sixty) passengers can take their supercar with them. Of course, it does cost something: approximately 425 million euros.

'Haven' is the name of the latest concept for a support vessel, such a large vessel that the owners of very large superyachts use to transport dinghies, water jets, hypercars, motorcycles, slides, helicopters and supplies behind the mother ship. Haven is more than just a floating shed: this ShadowCAT is a buffer for the virus bubble of the owner and his crew. The enormous catamaran is a superyacht in itself. The ship is designed to maintain the safety of the people on the mother ship. Anyone wanting to board the luxury yacht must go through 'Haven', where all guests and crew are first tested. If they test positive, there is a hospital on board where they can spend their period in quarantine. The boat is equipped with the latest testing equipment and advanced air conditioning, with surfaces treated with nanotechnology that should be able to filter virus particles from the air. The catamaran has a hull that makes contact with the mainland, where people and supplies are brought on board. Before anything or anyone goes to the other hull, they are tested or disinfected. Contact is made from the second hull with the mother ship, the luxury yacht with its owner and crew. Haven is 68,2 meters long, 15,5 meters wide and, in addition to the corona test and all kinds of toys, also houses security officers, pilots and chefs.
APEX 850
Royal Huisman and superyacht designer Malcolm McKeon have joined forces to design the largest sloop-rigged yacht in the world, the APEX 850. Towering above the sleek 85 meter hull is a 107 meter high carbon mast, which will define the skyline of every port in the world where these superyachts dock. Furthermore, the ship stands out for its breathtaking minimalism. Even the glass superstructure, which encloses a luxurious salon of approximately 200 square meters, seems barely present. What the interior will look like is up to the future owner. The ship offers accommodation for 12 guests and 14 crew members. Sailing with the APEX 850 should be a sensational experience, with a speed that will often exceed that of the wind. The retractable keel, optimal weight distribution and limited angle of inclination ensure stability, comfort and safety. The double rudder guarantees a fast reaction time for an ultimate helmsman experience.
