The Vision Next 100
The Vision Next 100 is Rolls-Royce's near-future vision. Self-driving, artificially intelligent, spacious, luxurious and of course with the comfort of an electric drive. The Vision Next 100 has just returned from a four-year world tour. So this isn't just some designer's wild idea, this is how Rolls-Royce really sees the future of luxury motoring.
The Vision AVTR
Mercedes-Benz gives its view of the distant future with the Vision AVTR concept car. The Vision AVTR takes its name from the movie Avatar. Just like this film, the concept experiments with the future interaction between humans, machines and nature. For example, the AVTR is operated with biometric signals. The driver 'steers' by means of hand movements. Furthermore, the chairs are made of vegan leather and the floor is made from an innovative type of fast-growing wood. In addition, the body can even communicate with the outside world through self-moving flaps. Will we see all the ideas from the AVTR in the future? Probably not. But still, many parts that still seem like pure science fiction will indeed end up in future Mercedes.
The Hubless E-bike
In this prototype for an electric city bike, 'The Hubless E-bike' from Reevo, the tires move around a fixed rim via bearings. Therefore, hubs and spokes are not necessary. The removable battery (48 volts) charges in three hours. The bicycle has built-in LED lighting and an integrated lock; GPS and fingerprint access protect it against theft.
Vision Next 100 motorcycle
The future has two feet in the past at BMW. If you look closely at the Vision Next 100 motorcycle, you will see that the design inspiration was partly drawn from the characteristic, air-cooled BMW boxer engine with two opposing cylinders. The BMW Motorrad Vision Next 1000 is a look thirty years into the future. And anyone who looks that far ahead is only limited by their own imagination. Edgar Heinrich, head of design at BMW Motorrad, and his team were not bothered by this. They see the Vision Next 100 as an emission-free, analog escape that frees the rider from a suffocating digital, autonomous driving straitjacket. The helmet has been replaced by goggles. Forward-looking technology offers enough protection as a digital companion.
