Lengers Yachts takes over Schaap ShipCARE in Lelystad

Good news from the yacht industry: Lengers Yachts has taken over Schaap ShipCARE and continued its activities in Lelystad from 19 September 2022 under the name Lengers Marine Center. A welcome addition to the expanding Lengers family.

Great news from boatland: Lengers Yachts is taking over Schaap ShipCARE and has continued its activities in Lelystad as of September 19, 2022 under the name 'Lengers Marine Center'. A good addition to the Lengers family that is constantly expanding.

A true MASTER

Leen Schaap, founder of Schaap Shipcare, is known for building ocean racing yachts. Two of his yachts that participated in the Ocean Race (formerly known as the Volvo Ocean Race) for ABN/AMRO emerged as winners. Schaap is a household name in the nautical world, especially for composite and gelcoat repairs and for spraying yachts. Schaap Shipcare is also the right place for the complete refit or renovation of your yacht. The experienced and motivated employees remain on board and become part of the Lengers Group.

Lengers Yachts has experienced strong growth in recent years. Owner Bas Lengers: “Demand is increasing and we must anticipate this trend to continue our growth. We are also very excited to break new ground by launching our own yacht brand. With access to the facility in Lelystad, we unlock the opportunity to create more capacity and control the construction of these ships, which I find very important in these unprecedented times. We have an extensive and pleasant collaboration with Leen Schaap and our relationship is built on mutual trust. I know what he is capable of and that he is excellent at doing his job. We are also very enthusiastic about our new, dedicated employees.”

The future is ours

Leen: “The collaboration with Bas Lengers and the Lengers company started more than twenty years ago. I have always been fascinated by the way Bas and his team operate. Selling and entrepreneurship is in their blood, they breathe it. I am very happy with this next step and am convinced that it will contribute even more to the bright future of Lengers Yachts. In Lelystad, Lengers Marine Center will have a ground floor plan of almost 18.000 square meters, four service and storage buildings totaling almost 8000 square meters and a 70-ton crane. The facility will be equipped to better serve their customers and enable service activities on a larger scale, while providing greater capacity to carry out composite and gel coat repairs. There will be more space for winter storage and the facility in Lelystad will also serve to facilitate the construction of the Lengers Group's new yacht brand, called Stratos. The existing head office in Muiden remains and functions as a luxury showroom for new and used yachts from the exclusively represented brands: Sanlorenzo, Bluegame, Prestige, Sacs and Stratos.
