Lars Poell shares trends in health and longevity, with a focus on hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for energy, recovery, and performance.

No time or desire to spend hours in the gym? You are not alone. More and more people are looking for ways to have more energy, recover faster, and perform better, without it taking over their entire day. In the run-up to MASTERS SUMMER EXPO, MASTERS speaks with exhibitor OxyHelp. Lars Poell shares the key trends in health and longevity and sees a clear shift: “The market is increasingly moving towards technology and measurability.”

What are the most important trends in health and longevity?

“What I primarily see is that the health and longevity market is increasingly moving towards technology and measurability. Therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) are also being used more and more frequently outside the medical world. You see entrepreneurs and athletes consciously making use of them to work on energy, recovery, and performance. Additionally, you notice that people are looking less at standalone solutions. Nutrition, supplements, and technology are being combined precisely because they can reinforce each other. And what also really stands out is that people are taking a more conscious approach to their health. They are no longer satisfied with just feeling 'okay,' but want to actively invest in how they function, both physically and mentally.”

Does your customers' behavior change towards the summer?

“Our clients’ behavior isn’t actually truly seasonal. They don’t come with a short-term goal, such as looking good for the summer, but are instead focused on their long-term health. What you do see, however, is that as summer approaches, people become slightly more conscious of how they feel, both in terms of energy and appearance. HBOT is not a solution for quick aesthetic changes. What it can do, however, is contribute to recovery, energy, and skin quality. These are effects that people often experience relatively quickly. Most clients who come to us are primarily concerned with how they feel and function on a daily basis, and less with a temporary result.”

What do you notice customers are looking for most right now when it comes to health?

“What I often see is that people have already tried everything when it comes to health. They exercise, pay attention to their diet, or use supplements, but find that in practice, this is not always sustainable or does not produce the desired effect. What they are looking for is something that truly fits into their lives. Something that does not depend on strict schedules, intensive training routines, or keeping up with all kinds of habits on a daily basis. That is also where the strength of HBOT lies. It supports the body in recovery and energy, without requiring extra discipline or time in the form of training or complex routines. As a result, it is not only interesting for people who are already very actively engaged with their health, but also for entrepreneurs and busy people who want results but want to keep it practical and achievable.”

Therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, HBOT, are also being used increasingly often outside the medical world.

What is absolutely no longer possible within health and longevity this summer, and what is?

“What you see is that people are becoming more critical of their health practices. General trends, isolated hypes, and products without clear efficacy are losing credibility. People want to better understand why something works and what benefits it offers them. What remains relevant are applications that support the body in a way that is logical and explainable, and whose effects people actually experience. Consequently, the focus is shifting from more trial and error to more targeted selection of what truly adds value.”

What does Brabant mean to you?

To me, Brabant stands for directness and warmth. It is an environment where people are approachable and where you don't have to make things difficult. That also fits with how I work and do business.

What are you personally looking forward to the most this summer?

“This summer marks an important step for me with the opening of our new showroom. We are opening at the Hoefnagels Ferrari premises in Velddriel, along the A2. A two-person HBOT cabin will be displayed there amidst a collection of Ferraris. That location and setting align well with our view on health: quality, experience, and high-level performance.”

What do you hope visitors to MASTERS SUMMER EXPO will come to discover or experience at your venue?

“What I hope visitors experience is what oxygen therapy can mean in concrete terms. Not only for the long term, but especially for how you feel on a daily basis. Think of energy, recovery, focus, and sleep. That people leave with a better understanding of what it can do and what difference it can make for their body and daily life.”
