King's Day 2025: the best parties outside Amsterdam's centre

The municipality of Amsterdam is making a clear appeal this year: celebrate King's Day locally and avoid the overcrowded city centre. But 'local' does not mean boring at all - on the contrary. Outside the canal belt, there are plenty of hotspots where the orange atmosphere is just as exuberant. Where should you go for a royal party?

At the NDSM wharf you will find Pllek, where King's Day ends in a mini-festival with three stages: on the beach, in the hall and in the restaurant. Expect a sun-drenched line-up with Marcelo Umaña, Mayapapaya and Dimitri Kneppers among others. Admission? Completely free. From 12:00 noon until late at night you can let loose here without the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Mussel & Gin 

As if the Westerpark itself doesn't have a royal look, Mossel & Gin is organizing a festive backyard session on April 26. From 12:00 to 20:00 you can enjoy music, snacks and conviviality for free.

Zeal

On April 25 and 26, IJver will be celebrating with a two-day orange party. On King's Night, you can join in for a three-course dinner followed by a danceable DJ set. On King's Day itself, IJver's front garden will be colored orange with live music and beers galore. The party starts at 12:00 and doesn't end until you do.

Cartel Kingsday

House and techno lovers take note: Cartel Kingsday in Westerweelde (formerly Westerunie) is an absolute must. Three areas, inside and outside, will provide a musical rollercoaster from 12:00 to 05:00. The line-up? Very good, and the atmosphere at least as energetic.

Sissi's Kingsday Block Party 

In Amsterdam-Zuid, Sissi's is going big with a block party that starts outdoors and ends in the club. Think Carista, Tonno Disko and Nick León, spread across three rooms. Thanks to the time slot system, you can keep the crowds under control - or just stay all day.
