A peek inside: this is the new Quote 500
The new Quote 500 is out. As every year, it offers a fascinating look into the wealth of Dutch businesses.
The latest Quote 500 is out, and as every year, it's a treat for anyone who enjoys delving into other people's fortunes. Who climbed the ranks, who lost their spot, and who will be joining the financial premier league for the first time this year?
The combined value of the 500 largest assets in the Netherlands reached €273 billion this year, a 7.9 percent increase compared to last year. Want to make the list? You now need at least €140 million to your name.
According to Quote, John and Marius Jansen have made the biggest jump in the list this year. The brothers, active in crypto, sold a stake in their company to an American investor and saw their combined wealth increase by a whopping €1,7 billion. This puts them among the top tier of the Quote 500.
New names and silent exits
The Quote 500 has 27 newcomers this year. The most notable is David Wyler, making his debut with an estimated net worth of €1 billion. The son of Quote 500 member Joel Wyler chose his own path: after a successful exit from Tinder, he launched the loyalty platform Bilt Rewards.
Other notable newcomers include Noël de Vries, yacht builder Dries Wajer, and the three founders of crypto exchange Bitvavo: Mark Nuvelstijn, Jelle de Boer, and Tim Baardse.
But where doors open, names also drop out. As many names as were added, 27 in total, disappeared from the list this year.
Presentation in style
The official unveiling took place on October 27th during a celebratory gathering at the Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam. The list was presented to a select group over dinner.
During the evening, Meindert Schut, the new editor-in-chief of Quote, also made an appearance.
