O.J. Simpson's Kardashian Bible Changes Hands

The Bible OJ Simpson once received from his confidant and attorney Robert Kardashian Sr.—complete with a touching handwritten message—recently found a new owner for a cool $73.050 at Goldin Auctions.

A striking detail: none other than Kim Kardashian tried to buy back the Bible with a private offer of €13.650. But that offer was politely but firmly rejected. Why? According to Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson's estate, it was simply "bad business." It would have created too much paperwork. 

The Bible contains a handwritten message from Robert, dated June 18, 1994, just one day after the now-legendary chase in the white Ford Bronco. “OJ, this book will help. God loves you and he will speak to you through his words,” he wrote. “Read this book every day. God has a plan for your life. I love you, and God loves you.” He signed it simply, “Robert.”

The book was part of a larger auction that included items from Simpson's estate, including a signed photo with Bill Clinton (for over €16.400) and a replica of his 1968 Heisman Trophy (€38.900). All in all, the auction raised around €273.000.
