Baoase, Willemstad, Curacao

Thérèse: “I think that is the most beautiful resort in the Caribbean. Truly a dream when you enter there. Very nice suites, with private swimming pool, good restaurant, everything very well taken care of…” Jonnie: “An oasis on Curaçao. We cook there once every two years. In return we can stay for a week with the children.”

Danpaati River Lodge, Paramaribo, Suriname

Thérèse: “This resort is located about two hundred kilometers south of Paramaribo, on an island in the Upper Suriname River. It is surrounded by unspoilt nature and consists of no more than about ten wooden houses. Moeke is there cooking authentic Surinamese food. It's three meals a day and they call when it's ready. You can do all kinds of fun things there: go on the river, spot crocodiles, visit small villages... If you want to experience Suriname, you should go there.”

Capricio, Bonaire

Thérèse: “A very nice Italian restaurant run by very nice people. He is really one of those chefs who makes pasta with truffle or foie gras. And the wine list is packed with beautiful Italian wines. We recommend this restaurant to our guests who go to Bonaire. And they always get us a bottle of wine back. So sweet!"

Mirazur, Monaco

Jonnie: “Mauro Colegreco is a chef of Argentine origin who is involved in chic French gastronomy. That's a very strange combination. However, he knows how to combine Argentinian cuisine with its thick steaks with refined French cuisine. And he scores well with that.”
