Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia

Monique: “When we stayed in this city - we stayed in Hotel Tanjung Aru - we were taken by boat to an uninhabited island with a full picnic basket. So beautiful: pure white sandy beaches and bushes behind them. Totally Robinson Crusoe. As curious as I am, I went into the bush anyway. There were just crocodiles walking around! I immediately thought: let's go! But a special experience.”

Tate Modern, London

“We regularly try to take cultural trips with our children and visit various museums and galleries. We also went with Bo and Jan Jr. to this national museum of Great Britain for international modern art. Beautiful, also in terms of architecture. Really one must visit. "

Porsche 911

Jan: “The 911 is my favorite model. That's the car. Porsche has only improved itself over the years. The 911 that I drive now... It is actually incomprehensible that it has made 100 percent technical progress again. At a certain point you think: it is no longer possible. Yet they have renewed everything: in terms of technology, the lines... It seems even more streamlined. You can get it as a convertible, with a sliding roof. But I think that line of the roof is the secret of Porsche.”

Butchery De Leeuw, Amsterdam

Monique: “Sometimes I just stand in that store for half an hour. I just stand and watch. And let owner Arno Veenhof tell us. I always take too much with me: Wagyu, Thai pate… I'm not much of a meat eater myself, but Jan is. He really appreciates it if you serve him a steak.”

5&33 Restaurant, Amsterdam

Jan: “We enjoy coming to this restaurant in Art'otel Amsterdam. We very much feel like we are in New York. You eat in the lounge - it was so busy that they moved it to the restaurant. It looks nice and the food is also very tasty. Small dishes to share or not.”
