Hotel TwentySeven is chicest design hotel in the world

Hotel TwentySeven in Amsterdam has been voted the world's most chic design hotel by the international organization Boutique Hotels. The 17 award winners were announced on Nov. 9. Director and owner of the luxury hotel, Eric Toren, is incredibly proud of the award.Online Editor: Mical Joseph
Image: Hotel TwentySevenThe organization of the Boutique Hotels Awards praises the glamour of the "only six-star hotel in the Netherlands" and its personal attention to guests. The extraordinary hotel exists since April 2018, is located on Dam Square in Amsterdam and has 16 highly luxurious suites. The hotel hosts royals, well-known stars and high-profile personalities from all over the world.

Not your ordinary hotel

Hotel TwentySeven is individually decorated, says Toren. A boutique hotel is small-scale, has a warm feel and personal attention to guests. "We don't have standard rooms. Indeed, we are more of a six-star than a five-star hotel. We have private butlers, the restaurant has a Michelin star, we have a world champion cocktail shaker behind the bar and the best sommelier in the Netherlands. With us you will find the best and the finest together in one hotel. Almost 100 people work for the welfare of our 16 suites and of course our restaurant and bar. Together we give every attention to every aspect of the hotel."

World Prize

Toren thinks it is a wonderful achievement that a small country like the Netherlands has won such a beautiful global award. "It is one of the most prestigious awards for design hotels. Our small hotel in Amsterdam was named the chicest in the world. That is a world award that is not so often given to a Dutch hotel. I myself am very happy with this award, and think that we can also be very proud of it as a country."

The International Boutique Hotel Awards honor the people behind the world's most extraordinary hotels. The awards were given for the 11th time this year. There were more than 250 nominees from over 70 countries . About Hotel TwentySeven, the jury wrote among other things: The Netherlands' only 'Six Star' hotel is infused with dark, decadent glamour - and a genius-like butler serving each suite.
