From food festivals to design on the beach: discover five stylish tips to make your Ascension weekend in 2025 unforgettable.

Weekend incoming… And Ascension Day means one thing: extra free time, and of course you celebrate that in style. From drinks between the food trucks to sunbathing on designer beach beds. These are the five plans you want to put in your agenda.

Rolling Kitchens

From Wednesday 28 May to Sunday 1 June, the culinary Valhalla will roll into the Westerpark again. More than 80 mobile kitchens from home and abroad will transform the area into an open-air restaurant. From paella to pomburgers, from reggae to classical sounds and from specialty beer to fine wines;

TAPT Festival 

On May 30th and 31st, Amersfoort is the place to TAPT. What once started as a beer festival has grown into the Borrelfestival of the Netherlands. Expect beer, wine, cocktails, disco bingo, and dancing. Cheers! 

Champagne & Wine Festival 

Also from 28 May to 1 June you can immerse yourself in the Joie de Vivre during this stylish festival in the Rembrandtpark. You can taste more than 100 types of French wines and champagnes: from boutique bubbles to renowned houses - while enjoying oysters, caviar and other refined delicacies. Très Charmant!

Skins x Republic Bloemendaal 

Until June 20, you can visit beach pavilion Republiek Bloemendaal, where Skins is doing a temporary takeover. Expect a curated beach experience with designer beach beds, skin juices, SPFs from Le Rub and Caudalie, and even Skins ice creams. You can reserve tables, but for a beach bed, the rule is: who comes first… 

Museum Market 

Sunday 1 June, the Museumplein will once again be transformed into a creative open-air market. Design enthusiasts can indulge in unique items such as handmade jewellery, prints and home accessories.
