5. It Follows (2014)

For nineteen-year-old Jay, fall should have been all about school, boys, and relaxing weekends at the lake. But after a seemingly innocent encounter, she is haunted by terrifying visions and nightmares. The constant feeling that something or someone is on her tail turns her life into a nightmare. This subtly disturbing film brought viewers’ average heart rates to 82 beats per minute.

4. The Conjuring (2013)

Paranormal experts Lorraine and Ed attempt to save a family plagued by unseen forces in their home. Their investigation leads to a terrifying confrontation with a demonic entity.
