Sydney on Darling Harbour, Australia

“I was there in 2000 for the Olympic Games. I will never get that image out of my head: looking down on the harbour, the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House from my suite.”

Zarafa Camp, Botswana

“Also a safari lodge where you faint from the luxury. They only have four tents there, furnished with a four-poster bed, fireplace, copper bathtub and a plunge pool from which you look out over the lagoon full of special birds and hippos.”

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Antibes, France

“Classic hotel. I think that lunch there was the end of it. I usually have the burrata there, it's insanely delicious.”

“A unique wine estate with beautiful gardens, great views, a restaurant in a greenhouse and a wonderful spa. I recently did a wine tasting there. Awesome! Only I, as a local – that's how I consider myself, I've been coming there for 23 years – no longer go during the high season. Then it is much too busy in and around Cape Town.”
